The first official cleanup effort has Really made a difference.:D I took some quick shots sunday of the outside,(sorry shaky hands and dusty lens) Notice all the Debris piles and fence repair. My second reason for the pics is to ponder what is next. Some of these trees will be too large to fell in one piece, and insurance probably prohibits climbing. The Vines won't be a problem to remove. I only wish I could "Pre-Snip" them so they will be dead when we get there next. I found out about Tim and Joan going there Saturday, too late.:( I will be there next time to kill the only thing that Haunts the Place.......Massive Overgrowth.

Most of these were me trying to take a picture through Chain link Fence. I would love to take one of those left-over fence poles and remove those Long deceased flowers in the Hanging pots....Bugs me every time I look at the Columns!!

Good shots...it really does show the work that we had accomplished on Saturday...I went from the main entrance around the side...and cleared, trimmed and cut my way. Tim worked on the other side, and he got a hell of a lot done as well. Thanks for taking those photos!

That's funny! Tim and I pondered doing that same thing this past Saturday. We know we can whack those old nails with the poles. I thought I might tumble from the steps though, as I'm a complete klux. ;)

Great pics, btw!!

The sad thing is ,, there isnt even soil in those pots,, all that got knocked out long ago. They ll be down and gone soon.

Ernest ,,,, The work done here by the cleanup crew is done under a hold harmless waiver each person has to sign , waiving liability to the Owners.

So we have to take great care not to get hurt or to do any damage to anything.. If that requires me climbing a tree and taking it down in pieces.. I will.. In fact, I think I will have to with several of them . :)

I guess Tim and I (and my Chainsaw..:D  ) will meet on Saturday..the new fence and all the non working lighting wires make tree felling VERY TRICKY to say the least. I plan on vine trimming and pulling. If ANYONE has a tree saw..(On a Stick) can they bring it? The place has so many sucker limbs.

Today.... Continued clearing, this time at the Back Rear Steps, College St side, across back of School and into the Courtyard, right of the Auditorium . Alot of overgrowth removed as evidenced by forthcoming pictures... Boarded up Front entrance again and entrance being used in the right hand courtyard . Intrusion activity seems to be dwindling ( I hope) ,, Mr Milne expressed gratitude for our tireless efforts.

I regret to inform everyone that the flower pots hanging on the columns are gone . Boo hiss!!!! :D

Hey Tim..Why does our Debris pile look so tiny? Several of those Vine bundles were 50-60+ feet? The Fern "mat" pic didn't make it..Folks... the Ferns were so thick on the Bricks that it was lifting in sheets in places..Ready to plant! Anyone that wants free ferns come out to Annie on a Saturday.:D

todays effort was clearing the Chelsea St Fenceline in its entirety, and working into the backyard of the School. Ernest St is such an awesome help and we got an incredible amount of work done today. 5 large piles of lawn debris to the Street.

As of March of 2010 , Annie Lytle School has changed owners... We are hopeful to be in contact with them ,and to resume the cleanup effort started a couple of years ago... My personal health took a turn sometime back, bringing a halt to the cleanup... Months and months of trying to contact the former owner to get rolling on this again, was answered for the longest time with silence.....

I/ We can only hope that this recent development will bring to light a prospective buyer/developer with a vision for the building and a viable plan that will finally put windows , lights , doors , new roof , and all the extras this building so richly deserves.... For far too long she has sat , beaten up and vandalized to pieces inside...coupled with decades of no reasonable or practical maintenance done on the building.... Well I am not telling anything that is not obvious... I regret that the plans the former owner had did not work out , and wish them the best.

Now it is time to get rolling again!!!.... Hopefully the new owner will be willing to let us resume our efforts....
